The Town of Brighton Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

The Town of Brighton will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on Friday, September 26 at 12:00 p.m. at the temporary Town Hall, 680 Westfall Rd. Our celebration will reflect the Hispanic Heritage Month theme of "Collective Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future," with this year’s honorees: Alfred Burgos, President and Owner of Burgos Income Tax; Felicia Garcia-Hartstein, Executive Director for Campaign Management at the University of Rochester; and Carlos Garcia, Retired Chief Communications Officer for the Rochester City School District. The celebration will also include a performance by Ito Arguinzoni (Congas) and Orlando Nunez (Guitarist).
The Town of Brighton’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage is part of the Town’s ongoing commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity. Guided by the Town of Brighton’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Advisory Plan, there are (6) key areas of focus, including; Communication, education and celebration; Engagement and partnerships, inclusion and representation; Policies and practices; Economics; Public safety; Infrastructure, housing and transportation.
