LIBRARIES CELEBRATE TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THE LIBRARY DAY

ROCHESTER, NY – Take Your Child to the Library Day Will be Celebrated in participating Monroe County Library System locations on Saturday, February 7, 2026
On the first Saturday next month, February 7, 2026, Monroe County Libraries will celebrate the international Take Your Child to the Library Day. Now in its 15th year, this annual event is a wonderful opportunity for children to have fun while parents and caregivers learn more about their library. Take Your Child to the Library Day will showcase all the free resources local public libraries provide for families.
You can look forward to experiencing, a Model Train Show, Baby Storytime, Ice Cream for Breakfast Day treats, Donut Designing, scavenger hunts, and various crafts will be at participating libraries. At the Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County you can celebrate all the library has to offer with a musical journey through the library. Visit the Children’s Center and other departments for dance, drumming, and an instrument petting zoo. Get your passport in the Children's Center and visit participating departments throughout the Central Library, complete fun activities, and collect stamps along the way. Once your passport is full, return your passport to the Children’s Center for a chance to win a 9-week Music FUNdamentals or Dance class from The Hochstein School or bundles of books! Winners will be announced at 4:00 p.m.
