The International Plaza, 828 N. Clinton Ave., will conclude its Market Days event series from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, with a Hispanic Heritage Month Closing Celebration.

The Closing Celebration will feature live music and DJ entertainment by La Nueva Secuencia, known for their high-energy Latin beats that bring people to the dance floor. Attendees will also have the chance to win prizes and giveaways from Casa Campo Restaurant and Condado Bar and Grill.

The Hispanic Heritage Month Closing Celebration marks the culmination of a month dedicated to recognizing and honoring the achievements, traditions, and cultural contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities in Rochester and beyond.

Held from May into October, Market Days at the International Plaza are free, family-friendly, community celebrations that feature live performances of music and art, demonstrations of cultural traditions, and recognitions of the people who keep the history and heritage of their homelands alive in Rochester.

The Plaza will also host a special Colombian Christmas: A Holiday Market Day from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7.

The International Plaza brings the world to Rochester with a global mosaic of special events and vending opportunities that celebrate the music, food, and arts of Latino and immigrant communities that greatly enhance the city’s cultural vibrancy and economic vitality.

The Plaza is open for regular business from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesdays through Saturdays, from May through October, when merchants and artisans offer a wide variety of international cuisine and arts and crafts, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays for the Market Day event series. Other special events are also held throughout the season.

Community organizations and merchants are invited to explore the vending opportunities the International Plaza offers. Tent stands are available starting at just $20 per event.
