Final ROC the Block Job Fair Set for Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Parcel 5
The final ROC the Block Community Employment Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Parcel 5, located at 285 E. Main St.
ROC the Block job fairs are neighborhood-based events that connect job seekers with employers in a block-party atmosphere. More than 175 employers and agencies, including Amazon, the University of Rochester, and AutoZone, will be present to offer employment opportunities and information on community resources.
The City’s Office of Management and Budget will also be at the fair to kick off the first of seven pop-up community events aimed at gathering input for the fiscal year 2025-2026 budget. Mayor Evans will submit his budget proposal to City Council by May 9, 2025, and is seeking early public feedback to guide the budget process.
In addition to the pop-up events, the City has launched an online survey and will host a telephone town hall on Oct. 28. For more information on the survey and pop-up schedule, visit www.cityofrochester.gov/budget.
The event is hosted by City Council President Miguel Meléndez, the City/County RASE Commission, and the City Department of Recreation and Human Services.
