Join RG&E's Smart Meter Open House at Webster Town Recreation Center

Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) cordially invites you to an enlightening open house scheduled for Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Webster Town Recreation Center, located at 1350 Chiyoda Drive, Webster, NY. The event will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is a valuable opportunity for our esteemed customers to familiarize themselves with the implementation of smart meters.

RG&E is currently in the process of installing smart electric and gas meters for its customers in the Rochester region, which encompasses Monroe County and portions of Orleans, Wayne, Livingston, and Genesee counties. This installation initiative will continue until 2025.

New York State has already witnessed the successful installation of more than 130,000 smart meters.

The goal is to complete the installation of smart meters for this region by 2025. Customers will receive advance notice about the installation process in their neighborhoods a few weeks before it begins.

Please note that the informational open house will not feature a formal presentation. Instead, it is designed to furnish residents, business owners, and municipal officials with comprehensive information about the forthcoming installations, including details about the scope of work, the timeline, and the benefits for our valued customers.

All residential customers and the majority of business customers within RG&E's service areas will receive the new electric standard smart meter or natural gas module. We will provide an explanation of how this technology operates.

We encourage our customers to visit us at any time during the event and engage with our project representatives to discuss smart meter installations.

No registration is necessary for the informational open house, and everyone is welcome to attend. Additionally, an interpreter will be available for members of the deaf and hard of hearing community.

RG&E representatives and informational displays will be present to provide further insights into the installation process, address any inquiries, and demonstrate how smart meters will enhance customer convenience, control, and options for understanding and managing their energy consumption.
