Venezuelan political strategist J.J. Rendon received the award for his devotion and work in the development of democratic processes throughout Latin America. The honor was also given by the President to Dr. Rendon for his expertise in the political marketing area. Rendon was the political strategist from December 2007 until November 2009 in the Porfirio Lobo Sosa political campaign.

The recognition was granted January 26th, 2011 in the Presidential House in the presence of the government ministers and the leaders of the Partido Nacional (PN). During the ceremony "Pepe" emphasized Rendon's role in the most crucial moments where it was needed to defend the republican freedom in Honduras, and at the same time he assured that the distinction was to recognize his 25 years of hard work in favor of the Latin American democracy.

The Honduran President expressed, " J.J., we are very grateful for your contribution to this triumph, to give the opportunity to the Honduran people to redirect themselves towards a democratic normalization, peace and reconciliation," adding that decisions are not always easy to make, but in spite of the difficult past campaign, it was very important to be surrounded by someone with convictions and abilities.

After receiving the award from the Honduran President, Rendon added that he was pleased and honored from the opportunity that God gave him for working with a man concerned about his people, who unconditionally loves his country and his vocation is not about the power, for the power itself.

The political strategist indicated that President Lobo is someone who in his personal and familiar life represents the human condition; he is a practicing believer, very respectful with others, tolerant, trying to reach consensus, in a few words, "a democrat."

Genio político condecorado por el presidente hondureño Porfirio Lobo Sosa por su aporte en favor de la democracia en América Latina; el premio señala un importante momento histórico para la política de la región.

El estratega venezolano J. J. Rendón recibió el premio por su dedicación y esfuerzos en el desarrollo de los procesos democráticos en América Latina. El honor también le fue otorgado por el Presidente al Dr. Rendón por su experiencia en el área de mercadeo político. Rendón condujo de diciembre de 2007 a noviembre de 2009, como estratega, la campaña política de Porfirio Lobo Sosa.

El reconocimiento se hizo efectivo el 26 de enero de 2011 en la Casa Presidencial ante la presencia de varios funcionarios de gobierno y líderes del Partido Nacional (PN).
