St. John Fisher College hosted the 12th Annual Day of Celebration, which is an all-day, Multi-Ethnic Cultural campus-wide festival that showcases holiday celebrations from various races, cultures, ethnicities and traditions. These observations include Three Kings,  Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Christmas, Chinese New Year and Ramadan. The cultural marketplace and marketplace stage included “make it and take it” crafts, dances, displays and foods.  The event selects a focal culture each year. The focus for this year festival was Native American culture. Every year this non-intrusive and non-intimidated event is free and open to everyone, since it helps promote the diversity and exposes Christmas and help students and faculty understand the origin and the tradition.

This event was not only fabulous, included wonderful food, entertainment and costumes. It’s great for the students to come together and collaborate focusing on respect and appreciation for each other’s traditions. Everyone worked together on crafts and watched performances by dance groups and enjoyed the different displays of food. Some of the things you found were plenty of Christmas cookies, bright lights, craft tables, tables showcasing various races and traditions a even a sturdy armchair for Santa.

Día de Celebración

St John Fisher College organizó el 12vo Día de Celebración Anual, todo un día, de festival cultural multiétnico en todo el campus que exhibe las celebraciones de las fiestas de distintas razas, culturas, etnias y tradiciones. Estas observaciones incluyen los Tres Reyes Magos, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Navidad, Año Nuevo Chino y Ramadán. El mercado cultural y escenario de mercado incluyen artesanías "hazla y llévala", danzas, exhibiciones  y alimentos.  El evento selecciona una cultura de enfoque cada año. El foco para el festival de este año fue la cultura amerindia. Cada año este evento no intrusivo  y no intimidante es libre de costo y abierto a todo el mundo, ya que ayuda a promover la diversidad y expone la Navidad y ayudar a estudiantes y profesores a comprender el origen y la tradición.

Este evento no sólo fue fabuloso, incluidos alimentos maravillosos, entretenimiento y disfraces. Es excelente que los estudiantes se reúnan y colaboren centrándose en el respeto y el aprecio por las tradiciones de los demás. Todos trabajaron juntos en artesanías y vieron actuaciones de grupos de danza y disfrutaron de las diferentes muestras de alimentos. Algunas de las cosas que se encontraron fue un montón de galletas de Navidad, luces brillantes, mesas artesanales, tablas mostrando un incluso de diversas razas y tradiciones y hasta un sillón resistente para Santa.
