Good Neighbor Award: The Children’s School of Rochester (No. 15)

 Local volunteers recognized for dedication, service to Red Cross

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Friday, October 07, 2011—The Greater Rochester Chapter of the American Red Cross held its annual volunteer recognition and appreciation event last week at The Strong National Museum of Play. Volunteers from various towns throughout Monroe County were recognized for their dedication to the Red Cross mission.

 

The following groups and individuals received certificates of appreciation:

The Partnership Award (recognizes an outstanding collaboration between the entire chapter and a community group or an organization or between a Red Cross department and a community group or organization): Thompson Health; McArdle Ramerman & Co.; Army Strong Community Center

    Special Citation for Exceptional Volunteer Service: Blood Drive Volunteer
    Scheduling/Training Team (Sandy Culver, Marge Davis, Rachel Platt, Steve Staub, and             Helen Thomas); Richard King

    Outstanding Intern Award: Daniel Sullivan and Katilyn McCall

   Good Neighbor Award: The Children’s School of Rochester (No. 15). Liz Cinquino, Assistant Director Of  the Next Generation Leaders Program for the American Red Cross of Greater Rochester(far left white sweater); Jay Piper, Principal of School No. 15(in back with tie.); Rosemary Villarubia-Izzo, Board Member of the Greater Rochester Chapter of the American Red Cross (second from the right in red sweater); Nathalia Amber Rosado a student at Monroe High School and  the Next Generation Leaders Program for the American Red Cross of Greater Rochester (in front with green & white dress);and various parents from School No. 15.

In addition to these awards, pins were given to volunteers for various years of service. The evening was emceed by News 10 reporter Lynette Adams.
