New Advisory Committees Established by the Rochester Board of Education

In a press conference held on January 16th, Rochester Board of Education President Van White announced the formation of four new advisory committees to address student achievement, parent engagement, student & community safety, and concentration of poverty. President White expressed appreciation for the support of his colleagues on the Board in suggesting individuals to serve on each of the committees.

The advisory committees are comprised of parents, students and community leaders:

Student Achievement Advisory Committee:

Ronald Hall: Candidate for Rochester Board of Education (2013)

Former President of district-wide Parent Advisory Council

These committees will convene to examine issues and prepare recommendations for improvements in each of these areas. Committee recommendations are to be presented to the Board by February 28th, and an open forum will be held on March 4th to gather public feedback and obtain additional suggestions.
